About Budapest Business University

Budapest Business University (BBU) is the number one business training university in Hungary, with nearly 17,000 students in Economics; including Tourism and Catering, International Economy and Business, Commerce and Marketing, Finance and Accountancy, Business Administration and Management and Business Information Technology and Human Resources. Our legal predecessor, the Budapest Business University, was established on January 1, 2000, but due to the legal continuity of our predecessor institutions, we can look back on more than 160 years of professional history. Since January 2016, our institution has been continuing its educational and research activities as the Budapest Business University (BBU).
Three faculties of our university currently operate in Budapest: the Faculty of Commerce, Hospitality and Tourism (FCHT), the Faculty of International Management and Business (FIMB) and the Faculty of Finance and Accountancy (FFA).
Our market recognition is due to our experience-based, practice-oriented programme structure adapted to market needs. Our sustainability efforts, internationalization processes and business-friendly approach have greatly contributed to BBU becoming the number one business training university in Hungary. Budapest Business University has traditionally been strong in providing high-quality foreign language courses and language training. There are currently 6 undergraduate (BA/BSc) and 3 master's courses in the English, German and French languages. Our university places particular emphasis on participation in the international academy environment. We are continually researching mobility opportunities and supporting the acquisition of experience with scholarship opportunities. We focus on countries both within and outside Europe, with particular focus on the V4 countries and Southeast Asia.

Budapest Business University is very active in international projects and partnerships focusing on the development of online, blended and distance learning training methods and contents to various target groups since the early 2000s. The most important projects in this field were the European Virtual campus for SMEs (2007-2010), ENELFA and ADAPTYKES between 2011 and 2014, and the projects about business mentor trainings (TRUST ME and MentorCert) in the last 4 years.

Key staff for the project:

Dr Katalin CSEKŐ, Dean of Faculty of International Management and Business of BBU. She has been working as a counsellor at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for 25 years. She has participated in establishing corporate departments and manages academy-university collaborations for 5 years. She has expertise and books in international trade. In 2017 she was the year's lecturer in Hungarian Export Agency.

Gábor ANDRÁSI dr.jur. LL.M. is a Senior Lecturer and Head of Internationalisation at the Faculty of Intenational Managment and Business of BBU. With more than 15 years of experience in international higher education, he has expertise in curriculum, course and staff development, programme management, and academic and institutional quality enhancement. He has also served as manager of EU-funded (Tempus and Tacis) academic and executive training development projects.

David PARKER, Director of the International Business Economics English Language Programme and Double Degree Programme at the Faculty of International Management and Business. He has over twenty years of teaching experience in business communication and presentation skills both in academic and corporate environment. Also experienced in managing human resources, especially in the fields of recruitment, training and promotion.

László VARGA, project manager at BBU. He has been working for more than 16 years at BBU, dealing with the international education projects from 2004 - LdV Mobility, Reference Material, Pilot and TOI projects, Erasmus Institutional mobility, Curriculum development and Multilateral projects, from 2014 first of all ERASMUS+ Strategic Partnership projects. He has good skills and experiences in project management, co-ordination and financial administration.
