Long-term Security of Supply and Mobility in Rural Areas (MoVo)

The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) is striving for equal living conditions in rural areas with its model project "Long-term security of supply and mobility in rural areas". A total of 18 model regions are to be supported in order to strengthen and consolidate their services of general interest, local provision, and mobility provision in the long term.

Two of the model regions are provided by the districts of Rhön-Grabfeld and Bad Kissingen. In order to realise the BMVI project, the Institute of Applied Logistics Solutions of THWS Würzburg was engaged as an expert advisory board. With the help of the IAL, the districts concerned were divided into cooperation areas of different types in order to be able to generate individual solution approaches in the course of the project.

In addition to the existing project cooperations, there is an essential focus on the involvement of citizens, who are included in the design of measures by conducting surveys within the districts and citizen workshops.

The aim of the project is to conceive cooperation area-specific measures to achieve the model project. However, these should continue to serve the overall problem solution of rural areas by means of a transferability test.
